SISCHAIN

Sischain is a tool to help fight gender violence against women. Gender violence against women and girls is one of the world’s most prevalent human rights violations, taking place everyday, many times over, in every corner of the world. However, the actual number of denounces every year is shockinly disanalogous to the problem.

We want to change that. From counting reports we should count the need for help!
Sischain aims to create an anonymous community of mutual support among women that is based on 3 pillars: Sisterhood, Blockchain and anonymous social networks.

This infrastructure will create a bank of time to share experiences and exchange opinions. A time bank of mutual support. That time is accounted for through the Sischain app. Women will be able to spend time together, share their experiences and meet other women willing to help them both digitally and physically, in secure networks that we will implement throughout the cities. We hope that through Sischain women will become stronger, feel supported and get empowered.

many unreported crimes?
“The fear of not being believed and a lack of confidence in the justice system are paralyzing. The victim’s story is bound to be questioned and they are then re-victimized.”

The 3 axes of SISCHAIN

“To all the girls that I met drunk in clubs bathrooms:
I hope you’re doing fine.
I miss you all.”
Sisterhood is "an experience of women that drives the search of positive relations and existential and political alliance, from body to body, to contribute with specific actions to the social elimination of oppression and mutual support in order to achieve general and individual empowerment of women.”
Sisterhood has been always present, when mothers and daughters defend mutually from violence, or your sisters and friends try to make you renounce a violent relationship.
But it can be something bigger: when women, that are not necessarily friends, support each other, they listen to each other and they are up to sacrifice their own safety and integrity for demanding justice to other women that they don’t even know

Blockchain is an innovative technology based on a decentralized system without intermediaries, offers anonymity and allows network transactions. Transactions are done using tokens. These tokens can be coins, goods or services. That is, you can exchange anything that can be transcribed in code. In our case, we will start with a time token.
This technology will allow in our social network anonymously a Time Bank among women to support each other through this tool. The transactions that occur, completely anonymous and untraceable, will manage to show the need for support and help, shifting from the paradigm of measuring violence.

How blockchain works?

Rosa requests time to meet in a safe place from Mireia
In blockchain technology, Rosa's request of time can be represtented as part of a ‘block’; like a piece of a puzzle
The Block

This block is broadcasted to everyone on the network, showing that a sister of the network requests time from another sister. However, noone can see the names of the sisters.
Once everyone in the network has approved the request, the request becomes valid

The Blockchain
Τhe block that contains the request can be added to the chain, which provides an indellible and transparent record of the requests that have been made

Mireia receives the request of Rosa and she approves it. The only thing left to do is set up the date and time of the meeting

Anonymity and lack of traceability become mandatory to protect victims. Due to the digitization of our society, we have more accessibility to provide help and knowledge, which makes data collection even more crucial. However, our access to the media is more traceable than ever, which is why we need new tools to provide anonymity to victims.
Anonymous social media are based on share and interact with content and information completely anonymously across platforms mobile or web.
The fundamental aspect is that the content or the published information is not related to a particular identity or profile. These nets have promising future uses as a authentic communication channel. It also protects the users of the risk of exposure, and of questioning of survivors of gender-based violence
